Using a handmade bowl adds a personal touch to your table setting. It creates a pause in your fast paced life, moment to appreciate the time taken to create such a piece. We are all rushing around these days and sometimes it is nice to just stop and take in the beauty of handmade.
New pieces in the works and a new clay on the wheel.
Even though it was a gloomy day here the colors still popped. A perfect afternoon for a walk. Check out the new outdoors movies on our YouTube channel. There were some crazy birds overhead this morning.
We have been getting some great growing weather lately, a mix of rainy days and sunny ones. It is fun to see the baby pears and apples coming along. Our hibiscus is ready to bloom and the mint and lavender are thriving. I have some new soap in the shop; an amazing zesty one I call Orange Rush and a lovely one called Lavender Dream. Also joining the shop are some of my new pottery pieces.
What a thrill to receive my new fabric designs from Spoonflower yesterday. They look amazing! The hosta flower print is created from my watercolor of the hostas in our garden. It printed just the way I envisioned it. The other prints are two that I entered into previous Sponoflower fabric design contests and two from graphic prints I made for pillows/home decor. They printed out beautifully.
Introducing my Hope & Joy Pattern. I have created a few designs as part of this series. After a fantastic trip abroad I came home craving a bit of pattern design. I have designed four variations of it so far. See them in these delightful tea towels I just made.
In between making handmade delights for Bale and Twine, I love to explore cooking, gardening etc… Recently I decided to try making homemade pasta, something I have wanted to do for years! It did involve some kneading which I did not expect but other than that it was smooth sailing. The pasta absorbs the sauce so much more than store bought pasta and with our yummy farm fresh eggs was a real treat! Enjoy the pics!
I have been toying around with this idea for my dish towel apron designs. I am thrilled that it turned out so great! It is fun, functional and cute! I added a slim pocket on the front as a spoon holder. The top is gathered and the neck ties in a bow to the side,so swish:-) It is available for purchase at my Bale and Twine Etsy Shop.
