Another snow storm looms but spring will come. Experimenting with new shapes, colors and a hint of white gold luster this season!
New pieces in the works and a new clay on the wheel.
Even though it was a gloomy day here the colors still popped. A perfect afternoon for a walk. Check out the new outdoors movies on our YouTube channel. There were some crazy birds overhead this morning.
Update from Bale and Twine studios; new baby chicks hanging out in the pottery studio, new Spring Suds soap available on Etsy, nature in my ceramics; new additions to my printable shop Printable Nature and new DIY kits on my new craft shop Craft Adorned

Had a break in the sunny weather this weekend and decided to tackle the garden and the WEEDS! Much easier to weed when the soil is damp and the air is cool. It is the much dreaded task of spring before planting. We try to do as much as we can in fall to prep but there is always work to do come spring. As you can see we had some supervisors, one layabout, one weed controller and three bystanders. This year we are trying out grass clippings as mulch to keep the weeds down. So we raked and raked and raked. Then we went out into the field and looked like real city folk by raking some more. It felt a bit odd. Who cares, as long as it works, even just a bit. Weeds are not fun come summer when it is hot and buggy out. When the sun did shine through it was a delight and made everything sparkle. All in all a good outdoor working weekend. Now we are ready to plant! Oh yeah, and rest our achy muscles:-)
Wishing you all the Happiest of New Years! Many thanks to everyone who has supported Bale and Twine this year! I was able to donate to the Red Cross and the Comfort Dogs this Holiday Season with your help. A percentage of every sale at Bale and Twine is donated! We have snow again today up here so walking the dogs requires skis sometimes:-) We have a guest dog staying with us and he has figured out how to catch a ride on the back of the skis:-) The last photo is of a burr covered in snow- so funny because it looks so soft and cute.
We finally had a sprinkling of snow the other morning and two very happy dogs:-) The two of them gobbled up the snow in delight.
I love how pretty the frost looks on the tiny leaves in the early morning, it is like a miniature world to explore. Around the garden things are waking up, the lilacs buds are starting to show, the tulips and the azalea are getting ready to burst open.
*movie time* Here are the dogs joining me for a sniffy morning walk (they are all nose to the ground), listen to the birds chatting in the background too… enjoy! You can view it at: walk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu3dnigjZdE
