Cleaning your silver pendants…

When I first started using the silver clay in my jewelry making, a friend asked me if the pure silver would stay shiny or tarnish. I have found that it typically stays shiny with the exception of wearing it into the pool.

So I decided since it is pool time again that I would test out the quickest way to shine up the pendants that I have been wearing. They have dulled a bit since I have been swimming. I tested out a liquid polish, a standard silver polish (the kind with the sponge) and a polishing cloth. The standard silver polish and the polishing cloth worked the fasted and best.

I use a silver clay from Japan that renders as pure silver once fired for my silver jewelry. It is a very unique material which allows for interesting textures and forms. Click here to view my current jewelry collection available for purchase.
