Our weekend was filled with dirt and planting. Thank goodness I make soap🙂 Makes clean a snap! I found if you run your nails along one of my bars with the blueberry seeds in it, the dirt just melts away!
Usually in our garden, we start with seedlings and fill in with plants as needed. This year we have some great plants started by our neighbour, some seedlings from our greenhouse and the ones we purchased. We also like to try different planting areas each year, to see what works. This year we plowed out a row in the field to try watermelon, musk melon, pumpkins, squash, carrots and sunflowers. In another open bed we have strawberries, peppers, grapes, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, blueberries, zucchinis, cucumbers, raspberries, cabbage, broccoli, carrots, popping corn and other misc babies from the greenhouse. In the enclosed garden we are growing tomatoes, peppers, peas, radishes, beets, garlic, lettuce, arugula and spinach. The enclosed garden is nice to have to keep away our chickens and ducks and of course the rabbits, deer and dogs:-) It is always fun to see which plants end up being a hit each year.
I learned to move the herbs closer to the house so we can just pop out when cooking and grab what we need.
My lavender row is coming along too, I hope to use the lavender with my products soon.
Hope you all had a great weekend too. Enjoy the pics below.
